happens, do not become discouraged. The solution is to build up the base of the pile surrounding the summit. As the pile becomes less inclined, it will become easier to drive the wheel-barrel over the base to reach the apex.

The wheel-barrel is, by its very design, quite portable. However it may prove too big to push around over strenuous distances. Unlike shovels, it is also very difficult to fit a wheel-barrel inside a car. They can be much easier carried in the bed of a truck. For these reasons, the wheel-barrel may be limited to predominantly local piles.

hand-held bucket

The hand-held bucket, like the wheel-barrel is primarily a tool for carrying pile matter, as opposed to a shovel's strength in manipulating a pile. The bucket is usually constructed of either plastic or metal, but again, wooden buckets may be found where citizens are more reliant on hand-crafted goods. The hand-held bucket is, obviously, limited in size by the human anatomy. In spite of this, the bucket can usually be found in a wide range of sizes – from a diameter of 10'' to 36''. Usually bucket diameter will be inversely related to bucket depth, if it is to remain hand-held.

The bucket's range is limited only by the feet of the person carrying it. This makes the bucket a prime choice for carrying contents across sand or other indelible surfaces. Like the wheel-barrel, the bucket can carry both liquid and solid. Some buckets may even have accompanying lids to prevent pile matter from adverse conditions or from excess spillage.
