TANGLE WIRE

When I awoke this morning
There was a feeling in the air
A cold blue mist fell over
And you weren’t really there

I stepped outside the door
And looked at all the trees
The branches all grew crooked
and the roots were under these

For all my friends were happy
my pain they knew it well
I said, my friends, I’ll see you
As I jumped right off the bell

But right around the corner
There was something growing there

So I walked down to the church that day
And greeted a man I knew
He said my name is Jesus
And I will get you through

But Jesus I said
You’re up there
And I’m right here
Come on, I’ll help you down

So I did that
Yeah, I brought him down
But then he perked my eyelids and dressed me all in rags
He began to show me around

But right around the corner
There was something growing there

Next Thing I knew
The man was gone
and I was alone again

So I walked atop a mountain
To see what I could see
I saw some other mountains
and compared them to me

I saw their rocks were shiny
and their heads topped with white
But mine were surely sturdy
and it did me quite alright

But right around the corner
There was something growing there

So I jumped right off the mountain
and landed in the street
Well then I dusted off my shoelace
And got back to my feet

I walked around that corner
And guess what did I find
For right around that corner
I found my broken mind

I found and put it on my head
And jumped back in bed
