When conditioned to see the world in terms of a commodities and efficiency scale (see image above) it becomes all too easy to sort the interactors in our environment into conveniences and inconveniences. This form of thinking breaks everything down into assets and inhibitors on the path to efficiency. Under this thought process, a pile may be seen as a nuisance that needs to be removed, and you are only too happy to pay for this

misconception. This simplified thinking process is another result of the tendency toward dumbed-down duality that capitalism is driving.

  We are clearly not saying piles don't need to be moved (just look at the title of the book). We are just saying that piles don't need to be removed. Perhaps it is just a conceptual re-framing,
