World Trade Center

(Excuse any premature objective analysis in this conclusive section; it is simply the nature of controversial subjects.) The destruction of New York City's trademark towers serves a crux of caution for pile migration enthusiasts. For just as Islamic scriptures are subject to violence advancing interpretations, or the concepts of left-hand and right-hand may contrast for two opposing bodies, so too can the basis of pile ideology be misconstrued. With all the talk concerning shapes, movements, and efficiencies one might lose sight of the intended whys and hows. Despite any dis-preferences for stacks (products of capitalism), and encouragement for pile migration (a means of defeating capitalism); these writings are not intended to advocate extremism. Or rather, the destruction of stacks as a means of pile generation. Reiterating, extremism in all forms is a product of and enhancer to capitalism. The case of the World Trade Center is all too suitable for our lesson of caution.

September 11th was an apex of collision between capitalistic and anti-capitalistic views. The two opposing ends of our architecture as ideology scale (repeated image above). The anti side being Al-queda trained terrorists, who, as mentioned before, often and fittingly occupied drastically non-capitalistic quarters by inhabiting caves. Labeled extremists for good reason. Rightfully understanding, yet unfortunately abhorring, stacks as capitalist objects; they were logical in the selection of the WTC as an ultimate target.

Skyscrapers in general tend to be highly capitalistic entities. The vertical emphasis, power driven heights, and four cornered/right angled basis, are all fitting conditions for the stack-oriented businesses that finance and occupy these mega-conglomerates of i-beams and elevator shafts. Skyscrapers house capitalism, and transform modern skylines into something like bars on an economics graph (image on the following page).
